GRE preparation in South Korea

Like a lot of countries in Asia, the GRE bug has bitten South Korea as well. The country like most others, has tried to get best people to coach and council the students. Every resource that can be found online can be used as like any other country.

Challenges: So, while the South Koreans are creating their mark, what are the hurdles that students face on their GRE journey? The barrier of language prevails here too. Many students all over South Korea have been known to take additional language classes and work on apps such as Duolingo and Memrise to make up for their English speaking skills.

Another major challenge that South Korean GRE aspirants face is lack of financing for the underprivileged GRE enthusiasts. Just like other countries, financing in South Korea has come to the rescue of students but a lot can be done, still. Despite the heavy loans, a lot of young students see GRE as their ticket to the outside world. A place, which will provide them with pay packages that, will ease the burden of their education loan. While considered a big risk test, GRE opens previously closed avenues such as getting a chance to see the rest of the world, earn in a stronger economy and be able to work with really bright minds.

Resources: Magoosh is a very heavily depended upon site. Apart from that the usual books that all the candidates refer to, Manhattan Prep GRE Set of 8 Strategy Guides, 500 Essential Words: GRE Vocabulary Flash Cards (Manhattan Prep GRE Strategy Guides), Grockit 1600+ Practice Questions for the GRE: Book + Online (Grockit Test Prep), Barron’s GRE 21/e 2016, PB, GRE Reading Comprehension & Essays (Manhattan Prep GRE Strategy Guides), GRE Premier 2017 with 6 Practice Tests: Online + Book + Videos + Mobile (Kaplan Test Prep), etc. are almost imperative if you mean to crack GRE from South Korea.

Opportunities: South Koreans armed with a GRE and their readiness to work make them worthy of an array of jobs amongst which are senior business manager, executive level jobs and analytical jobs in numerous industries- banks, trading, etc. to name a few.

Both Europe and The United Staes of America are considered good job markets and providing both opportunity and exposure that the international students crave and long for. The home vs. abroad equation comes in to play here as well as it does in many other Asian countries’ case. Especially on the work ethic front and such, being away from ones country and watching veterans from up close can be opportunities that come your way with a great GRE score.
