While applying to the top-rated global B-schools, GMAT scores are considered as an application staple. However, in some special cases, candidates can request for the waiver of this criterion from their application. To this effect, they have to write an exceptionally effective GMAT waiver letter and send it across to the school for contemplation. There are certain regulations laid down by institutions to offer such waiver if the candidates meet other selection criteria. These criteria are ascertained by the schools internally. Second Paragraph – Letter Body 1:

In this paragraph, you have to strongly substantiate your plea by demonstrating your quantitative and analytical skills. Third Paragraph – Letter Body 2:

This is the space to fill with some evidential data. Here, you can add specific examples from your professional career to exhibit the skills cited above.

Fourth Paragraph – Conclusion:

End the letter with a gentle request and acknowledgment to the ad-com for considering your request.

Tips To Write An Exceptional GMAT Waiver Letter:

Now that you have the format for writing a GMAT waiver letter, here are some easy tips to make your letter look flawless and acceptable.

  • Use a typical business letter tone to write this application. If possible, address it to the concerned person. Otherwise too, never start it with “To whom it may concern” as it sounds totally unprofessional.
  • Don’t brag. It is least expected from professionals to overstate their accomplishments in a formal letter. At the same time, never highlight an achievement that has no correlation with the eligibility criteria set by the institute.
  • Proofread your application 2-3 times to avoid spelling or grammar mistakes. Any such flaw can completely tarnish your reputation and candidature forever.
