Yes, the GMAT difficulty level is quite high and that will force you take a few risks, feel the pressure and compel yourself to push your academic limits. If you aren’t the type of person who likes to take risks, one who thrives under pressure and doesn’t like to feel stretched, then you might want to reconsider your choice for taking GMAT or opting for MBA.
Appearing for the Exam
The GMAT exam goes on for a little over four hours. These four hours demand you to be extremely focused and have complete concentration in your paper. You need to be well-rested, well-nourished and in healthy emotional state to be able to sit through this paper. When you give mock GMAT tests and find yourself running out of gas half way into the paper, you want to make sure that you take necessary measures to change that in your favour. During the days leading up to the exam, make it a point to get at least 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep every day. Drink lots of water, eat healthy and do some stretching exercises during your breaks.
GMAT Difficulty : Is it Challenging to get a Good GMAT Score?
It is not extremely challenging to get a decent score for your GMAT. However, if you want to get into a top school of your choice, doing your best and scoring extremely well comes with its own set of challenges. The average score on the GMAT, i.e., the numerical mean of every test taker is 547. This score will not turn any heads. Remember that only about 23% of test takers are able to actually score over 650, while only 10% are able to score over 700. Over 700 is what most universities will consider to be a “good” GMAT score.
If you are among those students who regularly tend to score in the 99th percentile, achieving this goal may not be extremely challenging with some moderate preparation. However, if you don’t fall under this category of students, you may find that meeting your score target may be slightly difficult.
Improving your GMAT score will take commitment, determination, dedication and a lot of responsibility. If you enjoy exercising these qualities, then the modern business world is just the one you want to get into!
