Percents

Similar to fractions, percent represents a part of a whole. The symbol for percent is %. You must be aware that a whole of a something is 100%. If you have 100 chocolates and gave away 50, you would have given away 50% of the chocolates. The percent tells you how much of the whole is with you.

Representing part/whole in fractions and multiplying it by 100 gives you the percentage figure. If you take the pizza example, 50 divided by 100 is 0.5. Multiply it by 100 and you reach at 50%.
