The Young Leadership Program at ISB has become increasingly popular amongst undergraduates who hope for a long lasting and rewarding career in the world of management. The program has been designed to offer a structured learning experience along with mentoring to students at the right time.
The YLP is considered to be an entry route to the much talked about post graduate programs at ISB, a renowned B School that has gained International recognition. Hence it’s not surprising that the YLP is open to and attracts students from all over the world. Pre-final year, undergraduate students from any stream can apply for the YLP.

The quality of training and professional mentoring offered to students during the YLP is remarkably high. And so is the competition to get through to the program. The admission process is conducted in three stages, which is something you need to understand right at the onset.
Stage 1 – Submission of crucial information
If you want to present yourself as an ideal candidate for the program, you have to put your best foot forward when offering academic, extracurricular information in the first stage. You will need to write an essay on the given topic. Along with the personal information provided, applicants are screened and shortlisted for stage 2.
Stage 2 – Essays and submission of entrance exam scores
This is the stage where you need to write two essays on given topics. Two recommendations in a specific format will also have to be provided. Your GMAT score (TOEFL Score when applicable) will have to be submitted and is considered a crucial criteria for your admissions to the program.
Stage 3
Candidates who have been shortlisted from the previous stages are invited for interviews in the final stage. International candidates are interviewed over voice or Skype calls.
Watch out for the deadlines
The application submission deadline for stage 1 is usually around end of March. The stage 2 deadline is around the end of August. Since this is the stage where you submit your GMAT scores, you have till then to take the test.
But it’s recommended that you prepare for your GMAT for at least three months to have a shot at reaching your best scores. You need to factor that time into account and prepare smartly before taking the GMAT, which can be your gateway to the prestigious YLP program at ISB.
