You all know the positive numbers 1,2.3…. But what about numbers before 0? -1,-2,-3…They are all negative numbers.
Any number with a minus sign in front of it is a negative number. On the number line, numbers to the left of 0 are all negative numbers. The larger the negative number, the smaller it is.
For example -10 is smaller than -1. This is extremely important to understand in negative numbers.
