Deakin MBA (Healthcare Management)

This course is jointly run and managed by Deakin Business School and the School of Medicine (one of Australia’s most innovative medical schools), and offers the best of both worlds: the core of the Deakin’s MBA program, and a tailored set of health units designed to prepare you to manage and lead healthcare services in Australia and abroad.

Course overview

The efficient management and delivery of healthcare will be one of the most pressing challenges facing economies over the coming years. This program offers you the opportunity to tailor MBA studies to the particular issues and challenges associated with this sector. You will learn the very latest in business and management thinking and have the opportunity to specialize in healthcare settings. The material covered is integrated and addresses healthcare issues at the public policy, strategic and operational levels. It blends the reality and challenges of healthcare with a thorough understanding of the operational, ethical and legal issues associated with the management of healthcare services.

To complete the Master of Business Administration (Healthcare Management), students must attain a total of 16 credit points, consisting of 8 credit points of core units offered by the Faculty of Business and Law and 6 credit points of core units and 2 credit points of elective units offered by the Faculty of Health.
