The IEB, Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles, whose head office is in Madrid, is currently the leading official centre in the field of financial training in Spain and Ibero America. Affiliated to the Complutense University and Rey Juan Carlos University, it is sponsored by the Madrid Stock Exchange.
The IEB’s vocation is to provide, high quality programmes with a practical approach, thanks not only to the study methodology employed but also owing to the restricted number of students and the excellent team of lecturers. Furthermore, the student selection, based on a good academic record and on the access tests, guarantees the quality of the academic study and performance, allowing each student to forge themselves an academic and professional project with the support of demanding professors and the Centre’s directorship.
The IEB is furthermore the leader in in-company financial training for companies. Among its clients are the main Spanish and Ibero-american financial institutions, (banks, saving banks, pension fund managers, stockbrokers, etc). In addition, technical training courses are regularly given to official and supervisory organisations in the financial field.
Over 30 000 students have studied in the IEB since its inauguration in 1989 and are now renowned professionals in national and international financial sectors.
The IEB has established a select network of international links with academic institutions both in the Anglo-Saxon and Latin American worlds. The aim of these agreements is to foster and strengthen the transnational focus of studies, joint research and a cosmopolitan vision of students.
These agreements operate differently according to their content and scope: Wharton University, London School of Economics and Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Academic Alliances: These are the most significant international agreements which enable IEB students to carry out part of their study plan in the allied institution; similarly, the IEB receives students from that institution. In addition, lecturers from these institutions regularly give classes in the IEB and IEB lecturers are received in the associated academic centre. Finally, this type of agreements imply the development of joint training programs and collaboration in research projects. The IEB’s Academic has more than 70 agreements with universities all over the world.
Training Support Agreements: These agreements enable teachers and students from associated universities and institutions to carry out development and training programmes in the IEB more easily and to receive preferential treatment.
Institution Associations: To complete the transnational focus of its studies, the IEB has also established collaboration programmes with institutions and organisations that foster international mobility and the exchange of ideas between participating members (EFMD, Cladea, Fundación Carolina , AACSB)
