Working on your Mark-ups and Tagging

It is always recommended that while you practice questions from this section, you make a note of the type of questions you most often have trouble solving. You may find yourself stuck in questions that ask you about the attitude of the author or the ones where you are asked about a very specific example.

If you see a trend in your weak spots, find ways to adjust your mark-ups and tagging to simplify the solving process.

Try to Predict the Questions before you Read them

Believe it or not, the LSAT can be rather predictable with regards to the nature of the questions that feature in the reading comprehension section. For instance, if you find that the author has a very strong opinion in your passage, chances are that there will be a question about what he’d agree too.

If you find a study or an instance cited in the passage, there may be at least one question pertaining to it. Start making a mental note of the details in the passage that would lead to possible questions so that you are prepared to answer the corresponding question when you get to it.

Finally, do not make the mistake of rushing through the passage because you are worried about running out of time when solving the questions. This could lead to unwanted misunderstandings and errors.

Take your time reading the passage and you will be able to go through the questions a lot faster. This is because you built a strong understanding of the passage provided, increasing your chances of getting the answers right.
